this song started as an exercise in pushing our boundaries. we were trying new things with rhythmic melodies & exploring the palates of a more soul-infused side of our harmonies. lyrically, we were balancing on the tightrope of clever, real, & playful. our favorite lyric happens in the bridge & deals with one of our favorite things to cook for brunch.

we’re also stoked that our friend & guitarist extraordinaire, rod castro, lent his incredible talents to this track. he is the sole instrumentalist on the recording & boy does he shine. his smooth tone mixed with our vocal blend is just delicious. you can currently catch rod on tour with pop megastar Bebe Rexha.

overall, we think this is a really special tune, especially when experienced alongside our other recent single releases. the stripped, warm, & smooth simplicity of it compared to the bombastic productions of our previous singles is like a yummy palate cleanser.
